What is the minimum age that you are able to purchase the iPhone 4 at the Apple store. Is it 16 or older? 18 or older? Any age but with $199? How does that work.

I would call AT&T. They have to run a credit check to open new service so I'm guessing you have to be 18.

On launch day you will be signing a contract for a new 2 year agreement with AT&T. The contract is not binding if you are under 18.

Unless you purchase the $599/$699 unsubsidized unit, you will have to sign a contract and therefore be 18 or older.

Guys don't be dicks, the answer is you have to be 18 to get the 199/299 pricing because you have to be 18 or older to sign a new contract with AT&T.

If you go into AT&T and are an authorized user on the account you can sign. I did this when I was 17 and got my 3G.

They checked my ID and everything, no problem getting it whatsoever.

However, if you are a new AT&T customer then yes you must be 18.

That was more at fault of the employee then them allowing you to. You have to be 18 to sign a binding contract. Even when you upgrade, you sign a new contract so you have to be 18 to sign it.

Well I also had called into the store and spoke with the manager.. she said it wouldn't be a problem. Also called 2 other stores and they also said as long as I am an authorized user it doesn't matter if I am 18 or not.

Fault of the stores? Probably, but the stores around me seemed not to care/know about it.

Technically, underage people can sign a contract... they just would have the right to exit that contract for any reason at any time, which is why businesses usually don't allow it.

But anyway.. if you're asking what age you have to be, I'm assuming you don't have any credit history, which would mean you would have to pay a hefty deposit as well.
