I need to unlock my att iPhone 4, 5.1.1, 4.12.01. Is it true that there no way to unlock it at the moment? I'm still on contract with AT&T, so they won't unlock it for me. Can anyone help?

yep, usually happens right after a new JB, people get stuck somewhere and someone miraculously offers an unlock for any BB.

How old is the phone? The first step is always contact the carrier. Have you tried that yet?

The phone isn't mine originally, I purchased it from my friend who couldnt find the owner who lost it in the club he works for. So I don't think callimg up att would work to unlock it without having the owners info

Had you browsed the Applenberry website (Gevey sim interposers) it clearly states which devices and which basebands their products will unlock, and your iPhone4 on 4.12.xx isn't covered.

Instead of using a Gevey sim, just do an IMEI factory unlock. Give AT&T a call and they should factory unlock it for free, or from ebay, UnlockFusion, and he will do the IMEI unlock for $9.
