Steve only mentioned about 8 of the key ones.

I am expecting these, some should have been there since day 1, but who knows, I am just a dreamer:
- screen orientation lock.
- faster iTunes sync
- wireless sync
- being able to drag and drop, copy, delete, transfer from the iPhone to your computer and viceversa
- on screen bluetooth/wi-fi/airport mode toggling

In iPhone OS 3 there are some hidden features that are never advertised. This weekend I noticed that I can still be on a phone call and sync my iPhone in iTunes, isn't that something?

What are the other ones?

As I remember there was a thread of iPhone OS hidden features, is there one out there for iOS 4?

Screen orientation lock is done in software unlike on the iPad. Just double click the home button and press the orientation lock icon.

I'm hoping for 512mb RAM since he didn't mention the RAM.....
It's likely 256MB, since that's what was in the prototype. We won't know for sure until the iFixit teardown.

Where is the orientation lock icon?

not to mention the iPad wasn't built to multitask out of the gate.

Probably so, but Apple had the idea in OS 4 when the iPad launched. I bet they just said lets see how 256MB fairs in the iPad. Apple has traditionally started to use 1st Gen owners are scapegoats and beta testers to finish testing out and perfecting their products.

The iPad maybe lag free, but many apps for the iPad have thrown in the memory maxed out message. So 512MB RAM is needed now.

agreed. also, there's plenty of times on my jailbroken 3gs where i'm only showing 26-15mb of availible RAM......and that's only running 3 or 4 apps. Seriously, how hard would it have been to ramp it up to 512mb? they are lagging to the competition......usually i'm in the mindset that "specs aren't everything", but in this case, it's relevant.....

The orientation lock is in iOS 4 right?
Does it work for any App?

- faster iTunes sync

Release notes from itunes 9.2 seems to address the faster syncing....

What's new in iTunes*9.2

iTunes 9.2 comes with several new features and improvements, including:

• Sync with iPhone 4 to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more on-the-go

• Sync and read books with iPhone or iPod touch with iPhone OS 4 and iBooks 1.1

• Organize and sync PDF documents as books. Read PDFs with iBooks 1.1 on iPad and any iPhone or iPod touch with iPhone OS 4

• Organize your apps on your iPhone OS 4 home screens into folders using iTunes

• Faster back-ups while syncing an iPhone or iPod touch with iPhone OS 4

• Performance improvements make scrolling much faster

Obviously, the 100+ changes are due solely to iOS4 itself, not the iPhone 4 hardware. All of those iOS4 changes have already been well documented, including several he mentioned as his top 8, like iAd and iBooks.

Sneaky yes, but that's Steve for you - making something out of nothing as always. :)

What's up with 802.11n being only usable on the 2.4GHz spectrum? No 5GHz? I mean I am grateful it runs on 802.11n but limiting to the one spectrum seems odd. Anyone have knowledge as to why it may be this way?

http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html

Must use more power. 5Ghz kinda sucks, anyway. In my experience, it has far worse wall penetration than 2.4Ghz. Won't a difference anyway, because like jav6454 said, the wifi speed is limited to begin with.

you can move complete pages of app's--

Awesome. Are you able to create, modify or remove folders as well?

any developers get the kit for iOS4 yet to tell us what it can do? One thing I am hoping for (yeah right!!! LOL) is more bluetooth control. But if Jobs sticks to his guns he will not allow that kind of control of "his" device. Would be nice to stream bluetooth or use the higher features of my car stereo system to control the media. Plus I really miss voice dialing. MY POS phone from 4 years ago had voice dialing.

Fingers crossed.

I can confirm, backups/syncs with os 4 are very fast. The long backups are finally gone.
