Heres a video of the photos/camera problem that ive so many people talk about, The same thing happened to me. Apple told me the only way to solve this is to reset the phone to factory settings, and NOT to restore from back up, but to start fresh, and resync all the files.

The problem, they told me, was that the back up file itself has corrupted data and is causing the camera and photos to remain corrupted, even after restoring, rebooting, and closing apps. It's the only way to solve this problem (that I know of). The youtube video has the instruction in the annotations, and description!

Hope this helps all of those who were effected by this problem!

I guess i probably should have stated it :p but i was experiencing a problem where the camera would not take any pictures, and the app would close. and all the photos in my photos app would have the wrong thumbnails, or be black entirely. You can see that in the video. apple told me the only way to solve it would be to reset the whole phone and start from scratch. This only happened with iOS 5 and never happened before.
