Ok, so i updated to ios 6 final via itunes and then used redsn0w dev4 to jailbreak. SSH is supposed to be installed, but cant ssh into my phone after the "Just Boot" option. Tried everything, jailbroken like 4 times and still no luck. WinSCP just wont connect. Im thinking my jailbreak is not working properly, even though i get no errors and iphone restarts fine. How do i know if the jailbreak and ssh are working?

Am I confused or am I reading this correctly? I hate to break your bubble but there's no jailbreak that I know of for the 6.0 unless you already talk to the DEV people.

There are tutorials all over the net on jailbreaking ios 6

You can jailbreak A4 devices and below with redsn0w. But you can only install SSH but not cydia. You have to use mobile terminal over SSH to install cydia. Cydia, as of yesterday, had not been updated for iOS6. Idownloadblog has a tutorial for this entire process. Or you can wait a couple days until cydia is officially updated. But it is possible. Plus, many of the more popular tweaks have already been updated to support iOS6.

Hey, Steve. How've you been? Been a couple of months since I've been around the forum. Do you happen to know if the iP4 has an untethered JB for iOS 6 now? I don't see a tutorial on iClarified or the like, yet. I assumed that we'd be stuck w/ a tethered JB for a while...

Hey boss! Welcome back. Your assumption is correct. There is only a tethered jailbreak available. I'll PM you the link to the tutorial if you feel like jailbreaking. It included both how to jailbreak and how to install cydia via SSH. I hope all is well.

Thanks, man! I think I'll just quit procrastinating and (finally) update to 5.1.1 w/ the untethered JB and leave iOS 6 alone until an untethered option/JB tool comes along. Thanks for the info, though!

Sorry been away for a few days.
Those jailbreaks were already availble before i ever posted here for help. I already ran the jailbreak on the phone, but SSH doesnt seem to be working after i "Just Boot"

Just downloaded itoolsand it says the phone is indeed jailbroken, but ssh isnot installed

You said you tried WinSCP, it needs to be done via terminal, the link is already posted
How can i use terminal with no ssh?

Just tried it on a different iphone 4, and it worked fine. Somethings blocking port 22 on the phone, ssh wont activate.
