Hello. I have an iPhone 4 from a friend from Germany that upgraded his phone and gave me the old iPhone 4. I tried to insert a local SIM but it wouldn't recognize it. My other iPhone 4 does recognize the SIM so that's good. I started to check on iphoneimei.info and imei.info and both reported that my phone is unlocked. What should I do?
This is my imei 012658000635046
the phone is on 6.1.3 software with tethered j/b right now as it wasn't activated and I can at least use it as an ipod/browser meanwhile.
Is it really unlocked? If so, then how can I make it work?
Thank you,

Thank you,

your imei shows its unlocked. may be your sim isn't good? try other sim.

I tried rebooting with the sim in the phone. Also the very same sim works in another iphone 4.
Someone sugested that I restore/upgrade and that may fix the problem but the thing is that the phone is on 6.1.3 jb, I would lose that. I would do it if I would be sure that it works, but I might end on ios7 with sim lock and no jb :)

Use SAM from Cydia to deactivate the phone, the connect to itunes, if it is unlocked it should tell you. No need to restore, just deactivation is ok.

I tried to activate it in itunes before I did the j/b. I only did the jailbreak so I could bypass activation screen so I can use the phone for browsing. It didn't work, it said I need the network sim that it had before (the one from Germany), and I can't get one in my country. I'll deactivate the phone tomorrow as I can jb again if it gets stuck at activation screen. This is weird...

If the activation screen shows it is not unlocked.
Unlocked phones imediately activate upon itunes connection.
