Just to be certain.

Am I correct that, as of today (23 January 2011), there is no known carrier unlock for iPhone 4 running iOS 4.1 with Modem Firmware 02.10.04 and jailbroken?

Yes ur correct, there is no unlock for 02.10.04 as of today.

Thanks for the information.

In the past few months, I have been a bit surprised that unlock has not been released as we have gone through jailbreak methods for iOS 4.1 to 4.2.1 (and now onto 4.3).

For someone who travels outside of the U.S., I truly rely on unlock and hope that unlock will be released as soon as possible.

Yes, I realize that. But, I was aware that unlock was not available at the time when I upgraded to iOS 4.1. I did so because I didn't like iOS 4.0 at all.

I of course hoped that unlock for Firmware 02.10.04 would appear fairly soon. That has not been the case at all. :(

next time don't hope wait! and look around there was just another guy that asked the same question yesterday. if you search there are a ton of these treads. also dev-team blogs would have told you. ;)

There were ways to update to 4.1 and still maintained your unlockable baseband.
If you really want an unlock next time play it safe and dont just hope and wish that one will come out soon.
Unlocks are alot harder to come by than jailbreaks.

Yes, I was aware of jailbreaking iOS 4.1 and still maintain your unlockable baseband. But, when I purchased my iPhone 4, it already had iOS 4.1 with an updated baseband.

So, I had nothing to lose really at the time I jailbroke my iPhone 4. But, you are right - unlock methods are not found as often.
