Hey not sure if this has been addressed somewhere else, but it happened to me a few days ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwCywguCbZQ this is a video demonstration of the bug.

This is my iphone 4 (not 4s) and it has iOS 5 installed on it. this video shows the camera issue that has developed over the last few days. this is the second issue that came up. the first one was all the photos were very pixelated, not full resolution, and definitely not 5MP quality.

This issue began when i was using the camera shortcut feature from the lock screen. i took several pictures, and then attempted to look at them. the phone glitched and restarted itself, and when i came back all my photos were pixelated, out of order, and the thumbnails didn't match the photo/video. the number of photos in the albums would change. if anyone else has this problem, can you guys help me out? im taking it to the apple store to see what they say.

if you guys have any info about it please help me. its annoying, i cant take any pictures with my phone.

Yes i've seen this issue many times with the iOS5 betas* & in the final release. I have no answer for it but it does get annoying sometimes when you want to snap a picture really fast.

Note: You'r desk is very dirty. I only say this because i have OCD with cleanliness and its bothering me.:D

thanks for the response, but did you figure out how to fix this problem? i wont be able to get to an apple store for a few days, ive tried restoring the phone and thats not working. if anyone has any insight as to how to fix this problem i would really appreciate it.

and response to your side note, my desk is messy with just some loose papers, typical college student studying…gotta have my resources readily available :p

Just got off the phone with apple about this issue and they told me to do a restore and start as new iphone. i did this and the camera worked perfectly, taking pictures and saving them normally.

however i then restored it from my backup and the problem came back. not sure what this means but i know that i means something. hopefully they can fix it.

Sounds to me like doing the second restore ( restore from my backup ) just took you phone back to the condition it was in before it was fixed.

when Apple told you to " restore and start as a new phone " that is what they meant. they did not mean ' restore and start as a new phone to see if it works then restore from the old backup where the problem is located ".

Something in that old backup is causing the problem to appear.

Need to restore as a new phone and start over, or so it seems.

The apple support lady told me to restore as new, and check, then to restore it to my backup. if the problem still exists after then they know its probably from a corrupted piece of data. i made an appointment to take it in so they can do hardware analysis, but if it worked with the new phone setup i don't think its hardware…there was the thought that it was a corrupted photo or video, but i deleted all the photos and videos, and iPhoto doesn't recognize that there are any photos on the phone.

Another weird thing that happens is that when i sync photo albums from my iPhoto library, the number of photos in each album differs from the actual. meaning the iPhone albums have different number of photos than the real albums on my computer…and all the thumbnails are corrupted, because they are duplicated, and wrong. I'm just gonna see what happens when i take it in to the store.

This ^

Restore as a new device... then start from scratch and re-sync (not restore from backup) all your contacts, calendars, apps, videos, and music. You'll lose your test message history, and have to re setup your email, etc., but you'll fix the system/firmware corruption that exists on the backup.

If you take it in to an Apple store the FRS or Genius will tell you the same thing, or walk you through it.

IF you decide to still take it in... take your computer with you so they can walk your through the whole process at the bar.
