3G was nice.
3GS interesting.
4G or BUST for me!

First there was no 2G. You have an original iPhone that worked on 2.75G (AKA: EDGE). 2nd the next iPhone will still be 3G because the 4G network won't be ready until t least 11. So I guess unless you can wait about 1.5 years you are going to bust.

4G could very well mean "4th Generation"
...just a thought

Also, everyone here knows what he meant by 2G, you don't really have to get into semantics

True that!

Most rumors/news stories refer to he next refresh as 4G. Be it '4G or 4th Gen.

Deal with it and wait!

I commend your (and anyone else who's still using the original) self control.

The first gen works perfectly in my area (my girlfriend is still using hers) and I've been unable to resist upgrading at each subsequent release.

I somehow convinced myself to buy each generation so far, recently got the 3GS and quite frankly unless there is a design change in the 4th generation iPhone I am staying with the 3GS for a while.

I think the every-other-year plan is quite sensible. Each update is "good" so every 2 years gives you a "great" update.

And hey, if that lines up with your 2 year AT&T contract expiring, even better. Just a side benefit there, really.

I have a 2008 that I'll be switching to a 2010 when it comes out. (Also, let's just use years for the phone models. Much less confusion that way :))

Same here. I have myself convinced I'll be sticking with my 3GS.

We'll see how that works out...

I still have my precious 3-year 2G iPhone with a few dingles and dents, definitely planning on upgrading this year!
