iPhone 4S and the newest iOS do not match well.

I had been using iPhone 4S for years and didn't update the iOS at all for years since I bought it. The whole thing happened smoothly until I updated the iOS last week through Wifi. Everything becomes so lagged. I have tried to erase and restore the device to factory default but it is just useless. It is still lagged. There are only less than 3GB of total data in my iPhone 4S 16G.

Can I do anything or is it the high time for me to shift to the newest iPhone

It's like a kind of cheat or marketing skills to force you upgrade the phone.

Ridiculous......

I can't see any reasons for an iPhone 6 besides bigger screen and faster hardware, in particular I don't play mobile games....
 
So what you're saying is that you jumped from iOS 6, or was it 5? to 8.3 and you're stumped as to why your phone got lagged, right?
I know many 4s phones running the latest iOS and they're extremely smooth with no lagging whatsoever.
The difference being they've updated the iOS on regular basis.
Give your phone a few days to settle down. If it doesn't work it's time for a new phone.

Umm, no. iOS 8 will make the iPhone 4S lag no matter what, and especially if you are running the original install of iOS which came with your phone. Even after restoring it, my iPod touch with the same specs lags like mad. Maybe you're just one of the lucky people who aren't as sensitive to lag and frame drops, or maybe you just can't remember how smooth iOS 5 and 6 were on the phone, but updating regularly is definitely not the answer. In fact, updating regularly for a while can often make the battery life worse and the phone will probably be more laggy!
 
I'll agree with you on the battery life which is very true but not on the laggy bit as I'm experiencing none of it. Same for my daughter.
And though I do remember the smoother sailing on iOS 5 and 6 I have no reason of even contemplating a new phone -not just yet, anyway.
Just a new battery (mind you, both phones are since launch day).

I doubt That.
A few days to settle down? Where you come up with that?
What is it a car you gotta break in?
 
In general, people no longer break in the engines after purchasing a car or motorcycle, because the process is done in production.
The iPhone however is a whole different story, wouldn't you say?
What I'm saying for the 4s comes from first hand experience. Why should you doubt it?

I doubt it because me and millions of other iPhone users experience it over the years with previous and newer devices than the 4S.
Maybe you want to feel good about your decision to stay with an old device and say that it runs smooth and perfect with no lag on the latest software but it's far away from reality.

Now my turn: stay off the juice.
 
Not had any problems running iOS 8.3 on my 4s but I never experienced previous iOS on the phone as recently new to Apple products but the lag your talking about I've yet to see maybe I'm just lucky#
 
It's to get you to buy a new phone and contribute to Apple's current profits otherwise they would let you revert back.
