iphone 4S Battery Life

Hello guys, I have iphone 4S 8gb working on IOS 7.1.2 . I have been using it for 1 year already. When i'm surfing the internet using the phone, 1-2% of battery life is lost per 2 minutes. If i'm playing some games or run some applications, then about 1% is drained a minute. For example, The battery life was on 22% when i started playing Angry Birds Space, but after 19 minutes of playing the battery life was only on 7%. So 15% was drained in 19 minutes! I'm interested if this is usual for iphone 4S on IOS 7.1.2 or the battery of my phone has problems. Please tell me how your batteries work and how many percentages you lose per minute. No that's not normal. The 4S got a bad reputation for battery life, but in my experience that's far from justified. If you're a little sensible about it (background app refresh off, location off for apps that don't need it, screen brightness, transparency, motion, bluetooth, auto updates, stop running down the battery to zero every time, etc) you should be able to get 6 to 7 hours of normal use out of it, for a long time. It sounds like your battery is on its way out though. You could check the battery's health with ibackupbot.

I bought the phone in an unauthorised apple store one year ago. I checked the serial number on the apple website and everything was ok. The phone hadn't been used before and everything seemed alright. But is it possible that the battery isn' t genuine? And my phone just has a fake one? Is it possible for the unused phone (which serial number indicates that it is genuine as it is checked on the official website) to have some parts replaced?(like battery)

Possible, yes. But very unlikely if it was a new or refurbished phone when you bought it. There's no way to know for sure. Replacing a 4S battery is very easy if that's what you mean. My advice is to check your battery health with ibackupbot, or if the phone is jailbroken install BatteryLife from Cydia. A year old battery that's not been abused should be perfectly fine, but you want to determine if it's the hardware or the software. Also, iOS 8.4 is pretty good on battery life, so I would upgrade to that.

Better focus on the battery. 7.1.2 is the optimal OS for 4s, upgrading to 8.4 most likely will slow down the phone and will bring other issues as well. Did you jailbreak? If not, try to do hard-reset first.

Thanks for the advices. I checked other threads about this problem and i found somebody saying that losing 1% battery life a minute is average. Then I came across the same topic on other websites and there somebody had said that his battery was draining 1-2% per 2 minutes. Is it possible that only new iphone 4S which is 8gb version (released in 2013) has such problems with the battery?(maybe because of little storage or worse battery)
