hey i just got an iphone 4S from my cousin who forgot his password, but the thing is i want to restore it but i dnt know what os was it on and i dnt want to update it to 6.1.3, it is officially unlocked but i wanna be able to jailbreak it, is there any way of knowing what is the os??? FYI: it displays iphone is locked and i cant access it in itunes and i tried getting SHSH blobs via redsnow but it says its not supported for 4S, and tiny umbrella wouldnt read it!!! help :(

The OS doesn't matter. Sounds like you'll have to restore and you could only restore to iOS 6.1.3, which is not jailbreakable.
 
You can try to bypass the password using one of those bugs recently found on IOS. You won't be able to remove the password anyway since it will ask for the current one first.
