Hello,

I have an iPhone 4S locked for Sprint (Sprint 14.0) on iOS 6.1

I have successfully jailbroken the phone and then used SAM in order to hacktivate it.

As the result I do see that my local carrier is connected by the signal level, however I cannot do calls and send messages. I can send USSD and it works.

In Settings I cannot select a carrier, meaning that the field "Carrier" is blank no matter what I select from the list, whereas the signal level changes from 0 to maximum when I select the right one.

Also, I dial 911 which is not available in my country, and it passes as emergency call, I get an auto reply that the number is not available (from my local carrier)

I can check the balance by sending USSD and select services using USSD, however cannot send messages and do calls.

Does it still means that my iPhone is locked (SAM didn't help) or have some other issues with the sim card ?

I've never unlocked an iPhone before, so I am not quite sure what is the expectation

Alexander

SAM cannot unlock your phone.

Currently there is no unlock for the 4S on 6.1

On earlier firmwares GEVEY CDMA SIM interposer couls be used.
But is not available for 6.1 and the latest BB.

You are stuck with Sprint so basically an expensive iPod.

Nope, you bought a CDMA phone, not a GSM phone as you should of if you want to unlock it.
But, that phone can be flashed to another CDMA carrier.

I have unlocked iPhone using Gevey sim and now using on GSM network.

just go to ebay and have your iphone unlocked for like $4

Sprint will unlock the iPhone for you (considering your account is in good standing for free). Once unlocked, it will only take international sim cards, not U.S ones. Of course you can still use Sprint
