hi,

i bought an iphone 4s ios 5.1 9b179 without jailbreak und shsh. i looked for an oportunity to jailbreak it. i could not find one. can i jailbreak it? if not can i update to a version where i can jailbreak it?

thankx

****..

then it makes more sense to upgrade to ios 7.02 and wait for the jailbreak right??

The last untethered JB is for 6.0-6.1.2 but you can't get there on a 4S, only 7.02 is available to restore, so yes a restore to 7.02 is better.

Quick question without hijacking thread... as it appears the OP now has his answer. . . Why was the 5.1.1 jailbreak (for the iP4 and 3GS) unthethered yet the 5.1 only tethered?

As they didn't have all device available they elected to restrict it to 5.1.1

I figured it had to be simple yet for the life of me, I always found it completing. Thanks for your answer. Appreciated!
