I love my phablet. I love it.
However, there's just times where I just need a smaller device. Class, for example, if I want to send a message discreetly.

However I want to update to iOS 8 but I'm still deciding; 8.1 or 8.1.1?

Apparently, the speed increase is not good, it's just a little bump and is virtually useless.
And I might want to jailbreak. I love f.lux, and it's amazing. I prefer to have the yellow filter all day, but there isn't a version for android.

So taking this into consideration, which firmware should I use? 8.1/8.1.1?

Why don't you just try both and decide for yourself. There is still time to experiment :)

I just updated my iPhone 6 to 8.1.1 and re-jailbroke using today's tool. Unfortunately the first downside was on reboot, I got a popup stating that Springtomize doesn't work on this version of iOS... a big issue for me since I rely on Springtomize... bummer, guess I'm going back to 8.1 now.

You should come back to 8.1.1 it's flawless , and Springtomize 3 just got updated for 8.1.1 !

There's no benefit for me at this point. I have a 6, so it really doesn't fix anything, and to me I'd rather stick with the known, given there are a lot of unknowns 24 hours into a JB on 8.1.1
