Hello guys!

I've got a iPhone 4s, and after i've got the LCD display replaced from a unauthorized iPhone workshop, the screen won't work in right side. There is dead spots. The workshop did try with 4 different screens, and they all work in one hour, and then the right side of the phone is dead again. The connectors and cables has been cleaned, so far so good, but i'm lost... What can be wrong? The workshop says it can be the Touch IC, but its not possible to replace it says the guy...

So, can some of you experts give me some hints to what can be wrong?

The phone has been restored/reset/ Factory reset.

Unfortunately it could be a number of things which could either be wrong with the iPhone or may have been caused by the unauthorised repairer which would have voided any remaining warranty.

Okay, damn, maybe another workshop could fix it, i'll try the other workshop tomorrow. But it is a strange fail it suddenly just came. The phone hasen't been drop.

Assuming multiple screens really have been tested in the device, and the contact pads in the relevant socket are indeed clean and undamaged, then I'd agree with the repair guy - it's beyond what's practical to fix.

However, it sounds likely to me that the socket the digitiser (the touch-sensitive glass) connects to might be a little bent, perhaps. There's a metal panel which screws down over the top of it to hold the connector in place and prevent it from popping out, but perhaps this is no longer enough - if a small bit of paper (or perhaps even very thin cardboard) was placed over the connector before the panel was screwed down (therefore placing more pressure on it), it may well do the trick.

If you slide the back off the phone, you'll see the metal plate near the top of the device, held down by about four screws. Removing these will reveal five connectors - they're all vertically aligned, with the exception of the digitiser, which is horizontal. Cut a piece of paper to fit over it, screw the panel back down, see what happens.
