iPhone iPhone 4S wifi dimmed out

So my 4S has decided I should no longer use wifi, read up about the subject and sounds like it's to do with my phone overheating and thus the wifi is no longer available. The recent evasi0n ios 7 jailbreak I'm guessing might have something to do with it. As I've only just encountered it.

Before I try restoring my iphone is there anything I can try other than resetting network settings and all the other suggestions as I've tried them all apart from putting it in the freezer.

Same thing happened to my iPod touch years ago. I put it in the freezer for 20 mins and it started working again... Although I think it's best to restore, open it up or pay out of warranty replacement fee (£100+)

It's unlikely that it's because of the jailbreak, but it's worth it to restore. The freezer method is the one that's works better.

I presume your Apple warranty has expired? ...

Yeah I'm literally just outside of the warranty (seems to be classic apple of stuff breaking as soon as the warranty is over)

You can always try making a backup, restore, jailbreak, and then see if wifi works. If it does, restore from backup and see if all is well

The 4S is notorious for failing WiFi chips. It's unlikely to have anything to go with the jailbreak; I got a replacement under AppleCare+ that failed after less than 24 hours.

trying it now, really need it to work. can't afford to pay for a replacement.

Ive only made the assumption that it might've been the jailbreak because it happened like 3 days after it.

The fact that one thing happens after another thing does not mean that the two things are related. Can you propose a way in which the jailbreak might cause your WiFi chipset to fail? Jail breaking really makes very minor changes to your phone. As far as I know this jailbreak doesn't flash the ROM on the WiFi chipset, nor does it modify the way WiFi works in any way.

I thinks it's a bug

My sister's 4s has the same problem. But it occurs after she update from ios 5 to ios 6. Other site says it is because the wifi chip is outdated(?). Luckily, the 4s is still in the warranty period, so she get replacement rightaway.
