I last used this phone over a year ago. Was having problems due to it being jailbroken, so I decided to reset it to factory settings. Unfortunately, even now the iPhone seems to be jailbroken, as it has a golden apple icon instead of my broadband logo that I installed when it was active. I believe this is why I cannot get past the activation server ("is busy, try again later"). I have tried several methods I found online to attempt to bypass the activation, from calling an emergency number to putting my iPhone in the freezer, to no avail.

I would try to restore it through iTunes, but if memory servers me right I already tried this last year and it did not work. Plus, no computer seems to recognize the phone- I have tried via USB in Windows, Linux and MacOS, in different computers, but the phone is not detected.

Any advice on how I should tackle this problem?

Have you tried to restore in DFU mode? This may help the iPhone be recognized in iTunes.

Hi, thanks for your answer. I have not tried, but I don't believe this will solve the problem, as it is not just iTunes that doens't recognize the phone- it is not recognized as external media by any computer. I don't think putting it in DFU would make much of a difference.

Does the computer charge the phone? Sometimes DFU will help out with restore issues, along with holding down the home button on the phone when you plug it into your computer (make sure the phone is completely off)

Hi, the computer did charge the phone the first time I tried it, but from now on it doensn't. I have now tried to connect the phone in DFU mode but it is still not recognized.

Have you tried different cables?

No I haven't, but I can probably buy another cheap one. I won't shell out 20€ for the official one since I have no guarantee that it will work (and they're crap quality anyway).
[doublepost=1471275634][/doublepost]Update: If I get to the control panel (that thing that has wifi, kill process, etc)while its "activating" and press"more" it will allow me access to the phone, but all I can access is the phone book (no other icon opens) and when I press the home button it brings me back. Btw, how exactly can I open this screen? It just pops up sometimes.
