I know this might seem OCD, but I've recently gotten a refurbished iPhone 5 just to use it as a mp3 player, and when it came, the home button was pretty loose and kind of rotated like 30 degrees on each side, but it functions perfectly with no delay and clicks, but just worried if I've damaged the home button since I've gotten it 2 weeks ago as I have been clicking on the home button a lot to check if its fine, and that when I click with my left thumb, its louder than when i click with my right thumb, and I'm scared I've worn the home button out too fast.

Judging from pictures of the Home button assembly, I'd say it was replaced without using any adhesive.

The button itself is just a plastic piece in a bracket. The actual registration of the click happens in another piece underneath. It should continue to function fine in my opinion. But I'm no expert.

i also wanted to say that the home button isn't fitting snuggly so it can tilt and i slightly see the inside but its pitch black

It’s not really economically viable to have it repaired, so if you can’t do it yourself, you don’t really have a choice but to live with it.

You could use the virtual home button if you’re worried about breaking it.
