Folks, help me understand the consequences of my actions.
I wanted to use my in contract ATT Iphone 5 overseas and used one of many sites to do IMEI unlock.
I have not connected the phone to Itunes yet.

Based on what more then one site's FAQ says, once I do that, my phone will never work on ATT anymore.

I don't understand why that is the case if unlock usually means it will work on any network, including the one you are coming off from.

This happened with every unlock I had before with almost any phone.

Will I really not be able to use my ATT SIM card anymore, even if I restore and reactivate?

Will I be able to take the phone to ATT store to get it activated?

Any help understanding this would be appreciated.

IMEI Unlock is the same as a factory unlocked phone so yes. my 4S is IMEI Unlock and I am still on AT&T works flawless.

Thanks, man.

That is what I thought would happen, not sure why these sites are saying I can use it anywhere but AT&T.

Something has to make sense in this world.
