iPhone 5 in demo mode

Some one recently sold me a Iphone 5 Working display model phone, at
the time I did not know nor did he comment it being so. These are the
same phones that are on display at a carriers store, they fully work and
can make calls and all that...

I stuck my sim inside and it fully woks from what I seen so far But its
In some demo mode, I want to restore it so I can get it off it's demo
mode or what ever it is.


Here is my problem I want to get this phone out of this demo mode so I
can fully use the iPhone like its a normal iPhone.. I'm scared to
restore the iphone from recovery mode or dfu mode cause it might lock up or
something. has any one did a restore and was successful

There is no demo mode with the iphone.
If there's other phone calls and other users information, apps, photos and texts its probably lost or stolen property.

Sprint AT&T and Verizon are not allowed under any circumstance to sell a demo iPhone 5 it is the property of Apple not the phone company. That phone is stolen my friend and I would contact either apple or the authorities. A friend of mine was arrested at work because he had a stolen iPhone 5 on him, it just happened this past Saturday.

Before jumping to conclusions

First and foremost, there is indeed a chance the phone could be stolen, no doubt. But just because it was a store demo previously, does not mean it is a stolen device. Previous users are correct when saying that the demos are property of Apple...but only at corporate retail locations. I, myself, work for a third-party preferred retailer where my inventory manager purchases the phones for demos outright. Upon closing a store, an extra iPhone 5 demo was left floating around and not being used, so I offered to buy it off of my inventory manager.
Invoice prepared, payment given and received, and not stolen.
Now, if we can get back to the matter at hand, I'd be very curious to know how to get a regular build of iOS on this device.

if it is a second hand iPhone as the users are suggesting here it could very well be a stolen one I would urge you to take some expert advice on it.

First of all, yes the iPhone is the property of Apple. However, iPhones are not primarily sold by Apple. Best Buy, RadioShack, Walmart, Target, 3rd party cellphone retailers, etc can sell Apple. Dude may have bought a stolen phone but I bought a demo iphone from RadioShack and I does have a demo mode. It is best to get off the couch and do some research before you attempt to make an ass out of yourself.

I am aware but they had demo phone a few years ago too
