I can't make up my mind on which phone to use. T Mobile finally got the iPhone 5. I have been using the Samsung Galaxy S2 4g for a long time. Although I like the Galaxy phone and the features it offers, I still like the iPhone. The iPhone 5 looks attractive. The Galaxy phone has one main feature that the iPhone doesn't have, extra storage. I realize that I can use either phone as a phone and music player.

I have always been an Apple guy and not Android. Should I said with the Galaxy phone or switch to the iPhone 5? What is everyone's opinion?

Thanks for the replies. My Galaxy phone is up in October. This phone is a TMO version. I will have to make a decision whether to renew the phone or switch over to the iPhone. If I go with the iPhone 5, I was planning on using it as an iPod touch as well as a phone. I would put my music on this phone and use it as a music player too. I have always used the iPod as a music player. I had to give my iPod touch to my wife.

The Galaxy phone has a lot of bloatware on it. I don't use nearly half the apps that come preinstalled on this phone. I had to root this phone to take the junk off of it. I had to figure out how to root first. That was tricky to do.

Ultimately, I know it is my decision but I wanted to get some opinions by the community.

You've got to be kidding. You want some stranger on a forum to tell you, an adult, what to do ?

I would definitely go with something newer than the S2. If you prefer Android, I'd recommend the HTC One or Galaxy S4. Since your contract isn't up until October, you will be able to see what the new iPhone has to offer as well.

Well... you're posting this question on an Apple forum, I have a feeling the answer is obvious, iPhone 5.
However no matter which phone you get, you're going to feel at one point or another, 'Man I wish I had the iPhone 5/S2 for this reason..'. Think about this then, Jelly Bean was JUST updated across some of the Android phones, whether the S2 got the update I don't know, I do know that the S3 got the update and I wasn't impressed. iPhone 5 will be getting the premium treatment when iOS 7 comes out this Fall and it's going to be awesome.

I would keep the s2 till fall and then go with the iPhone 5s

SR45,

YOU got to be kidding. That is YOUR response. Boy, I wasn't asking for anyone on this forum to tell me want to do. I was asking for idea's from this community. Based upon your "opinion" you must be a teenager or young adult. When you reach adulthood, you don't need to look for anyone to tell you what to do or think. Why would I go through the hassle to reset my password on this site only to post a question and get knocked down by a stranger like YOU, SR45? I could easily walk outside and ask a stranger to tell me what to do.

SR45, when I go to Subway for lunch, I will have a stranger tell me which sandwich, drink and chips I should get. I will have a stranger order my lunch for me today. Thanks for the tip, SR45. Good suggestion. It took me about 30 years of my life to figure out that I can't make any decisions on my own. I need strangers to do that for me. I am soo happy that we have people like SR45 to remind us, adults, that we need strangers to tell us what do in life.

Thanks to the other members for giving a constructive answer and making me think. I do appreciate your idea's.

I don't even see how one could have trouble deciding. I went from an S3 to iPhone 5. S2 sucks, IMO.

I have the S2 LTE up here in Canada and I'm holding out until the iPhone 5s is announced. I'm thinking there may be a real nice improvement with the battery life with the next iPhone with a new cpu that is lower powered and a slightly larger battery. My suggestion is to wait till October.

Wait why would you get an S2 if you can get an S4 or a Note 2? Are they not available? I am confused.

Wait until October to see what's available and at what cost. I'm not really understanding why your choice is only these two devices? Considering it doesn't sound like you're not getting the iPhone 5 for free, why not also consider any number of newer Android devices (HTC One, Galaxy S4 for example), like for pretty much the same price. And any phone you get will also be able to serve as a music player.

Always go with the newest tech. I use the S3 but if I was forced to choose between an old S2 or a new ip5 I would choose the newest.

Wait for your contract to end and then buy the galaxy s4 google edition.Since tmobile no longer does contract and now instead breaks up the devices into payments you might as well get the unlocked google edition since the t mobile version is pretty much the same price in the long run. The battery on the google edition s4 is unreal as well. Over 11 hour screen on time in tests. Instant updates are a big bonus as well.

He asked S2 or iPhone 5. I don't see anywhere in his post he wants the GS4. He says he is an Apple guy.
