Greetings all - my wife and I both have iPhone 5 phones. We had both updated to the latest 10.0.2 iOS, however, while mine is working fine, it appears to have broken hers (wifi, bluetooth etc work fine, but she can't call out or receive calls - Verizon (and others) have checked and say they have seen quite a few broken by iOS 10). I was going to restore it back to 9.3.5 (I have found the information on how to do that), however, it is not clear which restore image to use - we are in the US on Verizon. There is a "GSM" image and a "GLOBAL" image for 9.3.5 - which one is appropriate?

I don't want to brick her phone - she does have a 7plus on order, but that is a month (or more!) away. Currently, if people call, it goes direct to voice mail then notifies her she has a message which she can listen to. That works fine - you just can't call or receive on the phone (we have tried the fixes I found with Google with no change and Verizon tried a new SIM card with no change).

Thanks
Mike Fields

OK, thanks much. Just for grins, I have an appointment at the apple store this evening (where I expect them to tell me I am out of luck) - I will then try to revert to 9.3.5 and go from there. Ain't technology wonderful? They always tell you to install the latest updates to get the security patches etc. --- unless of course it breaks something in which case they say "you should not have installed the latest updates ... "

Well, one last test before rolling back - took it to Apple last night at their "Genius Bar" and they reloaded 10.0.2 on the phone again and now it works. Apparently the original upgrade was corrupted somehow - considering the number of others I have heard of with broken phones from the upgrade, I wonder if there is a server out there with a corrupted image on it somewhere? I would have expected the download / install to involve some sort of MD5 check etc. to verify the data, but perhaps not. Anyway, phone is working again - all is well in the world :)

Wow - that just changed because it was showing it as being signed yesterday, but as you say, today, it shows it is not being signed anymore.
