iPhone 5 to HTC one?

I didn't go straight from one to the other. I went from iPhone 5 -> Galaxy Note 2 -> Galaxy S4 which I exchanged for my HTC One.
I like the Galaxy S4, but the HTC One is the best phone I've ever owned.
Do you like Android? If not, then stick with iOS. I personally feel Jelly Bean is a bit ahead of iOS 6.. Maybe iOS 7 will even things up a bit. But as far as regrets.. Not at all, I love the HTC One. You couldn't pay me to swap back to a iPhone 5 on iOS 6.
If you are set on the HTC One...you cannot go wrong. It is an awesome phone!
Start now create a Google account then sync your calendar and contacts to Google...it will make the transition easier for you. Good luck....post back to the forum with any issues......lots of us have gone this route from iPhones to Android phones so we may be able to help....

The One has a couple of its own drawbacks, but is there any regret going from an iPhone to a One? Not a single ounce of regret was given.
I made the switch from the iPhone 5. I love my htc one. Only thing better on my iPhone 5 was the camera. I'm no photog by any means but the pics on the one seem really processed. May have to dial the sharpness back..and no convent way to get emojis like iPhone (petty, I know lol) but everything else on the one is superior!
I switched from a jailbroken iPhone 4s to the HTC One and it has been great so far. The screen is gorgeous, the build quality is surprisingly good, I'm pretty happy with the camera and the audio quality is on par with what I'd expect from Apple.
As for problems, I'm slightly annoyed that the volume controls on my recently purchased Earpods doesn't work, but that's a pretty small issue in the whole scheme of things.
*edit* There is an adjustment period. Its been a week and I've finally stopped trying to push the home button to turn the screen on.

I find my HTC One delightful. My iPhone 5, not so much.
Yet I must say I still prefer my new Galaxy S4. It's all a matter of personal preference. I'm a big enthusiast of its 4.99" display.
In addition despite the haters brand of vitriol, the latest rev of TouchWiz is greatly improved & some of the past annoyances have been removed. This is the first time I've found TouchWiz quite good. So much so, it's greatly narrowed the gap between it & the pure Android experience I enjoy on my Nexus 4 & 7 models.
If one chooses the HTC One you cannot go wrong. It's a stellar smartphone.

Actually I take that back. There is one regret. It's not enough to make me go back to the iPhone but there is, without debate, one major regret.
The camera. I can't stress this enough. The camera of the HTC one is bad. Just flat out bad. There's no getting around it. There's no silver lining (nope not even the low light hype). There is no victory in any way for the HTC one camera. It's bad and that's all there is to it.
Other than that though... No regrets.

I switched from the iPhone 4S to the HTC One, and it is hands down the best phone I have ever used. I am amused by the number of functions and customizations in Android that I could never dream of on an iPhone. The data transfer is also very easy. Just download HTC Sync Manager (on PC and Mac), and there is an option which can transfer your iTunes backup to your new phone, just like an iPhone-to-iPhone switch.
thats just not correct unless you have a defective camera. video quality ist much better, especially the audio
shutter is much quicker
low light photos are better!
the flash does a much better job, much more nuanced than the iphone 5s flash.
i prefer 16:9 photos.
colours are more natural, the iphone tends to over-saturate.
macros are better.
landscape much worse. dynamic range a bit worse.
mind you, i did a through comparison.
Whilst undeniably the camera would benefit from more megapixels, I too have managed to capture great some shots from it that whilst may not suit being printed / blown up, they certainly are great for sharing via social networks / flickr and such.
Its far from bad, but it is also far from perfect. Had it been 8 mega pixel / ultrapixels it would have been better, had it also been 13mp and no ultra-pixel I think it would have possibly been better than 4mp ultra pixels.
But video recording I find to be of same quality as every other 1080p shooter, but the hardware stabilisation is very good on the one.
