Hey everybody,
My iPhone 5 slowly died earlier this week with what i initially thought was a battery issue, however, replacing the battery did not address the issue. Here is what i am experiencing and if anyone can help me fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated!
Initial shut down Symptoms:
-Before any issues occurred, my iphone would read that "this accessory is not supported" for my cord (not apple cord) and official apple cords when plugged in to be charged.
-Last Saturday at 10 pm: symptoms begin as i plug my phone into my cord and nothing happens, i then used my friends cord which gave my phone its last full charge.
-Sunday morning at 10 am: I plug my phone in to charge. it still has life from the night before and appears to be taking a charge. The lightning bolt is on but the battery continues to drain. I switch chargers after an hour and not noticing a building charge. the new charger charges it up about ten percent and once again it begins to drain. the phone continued to drain until it died. Late sunday evening the phone was still appearing to take a charge and i got it turned on briefly one or two times but i do not think it was actually charging.
-Currently: the phone will just show the battery with the lowest red bar when plugged in, there is no lightning both or anything else on the screen.
My treatment:
- naturally i thought this to be a battery issue which i had replace. the new battery would still not take a charge. Now i am wondering if it is an issue with the charger port. I have been at the beach for the last three weeks so my phone has been exposed to lots of humidity.
Does anyone have any advice on fixing this (or attempting to do so)? I really need to get my contacts and would prefer to have it fixed asap (apple takes forever).
Thanks alot for your help!
-Chad
