So my iPhone 5 is only 16gb and 11.4 of the 16 is being occupied by other data. I need to keep my messages and thats it. Is there a way I can back up only my messages and delete everything else.
i have tried backing up using pkgbackup but its filled with bugs and keeps crashing.

Probably dumb question but, do you have music and movies in there?

no i have a seperate ipod for movies and music
i recently restored my iphone ios6.1 and restored from back up in order to keep my messages and the 11.4gb of other came with the backup...

install openssh, find the SMS folder (with sms.db) and you can transfer your messages over. or use iphone backup extractor and get it from an itunes backup

Try icleaner in Cydia. Got rid of 1.5gb of rubbish on my phone

ive tried icleaner it only removed a lil bit of data... and the messages only go back a couple of months and i need them for security reasons
