I have an iPhone 5 that began having difficulties charging, requiring the Lighting cable to be held in a particular position in order to charge, and eventually no angle worked and the phone ceased charging at all.

I've tried sticking some tissue on a pin and cleaning out the inside but no luck.

Any ideas?

It sounds like an issue with the cord more so than the phone. I'm on my third Lightning cable now due to this same problem...I'd try out another Lightning cable first, and then maybe look into buying a new one.
