I used to have iPhone 4 with iOS 7 and it was remembering volumes of different types of headphones - I could have set different vol level for headphones with remote (jays, apple etc) and differnet vol for regular jack (standard headphones, car aux).
I switched to iPhone 5s and now this feature is missing :(

Is there anything I could do to make it work or is it hardware issue?

I have an 32GB Gold iPhone 5s and it remembers output volumes for my car audio jack (double sided headphone cord) and my EarPods.

I've made a test with different headphones and yes it remembers the volume but randomly volume memory is lost. I've written to Apple support it seems to be a bug in software.
