hey all,

Strange glitch on my gf's iPhone 5s (tmobile). The other day--I think Saturday--her phone froze entirely. She was watching a video through the facebook app and the app crashed. Then everything was frozen on the home screen, followed by the screen going black (presumably iOS crashing entirely). It was black for awhile and eventually came back on; however, when it rebooted, there were no apps, just the background wallpaper.

She tried syncing the device to iTunes, and though the computer recognizes the phone is connected, she can't get past the code prompt because nothing comes up on the phone. Hard resetting doesn't seem to do the trick either.

So we're currently in limbo, waiting for the device to just run out of battery power and automatically shut off, since we can't manually do that. Does this sound like a glitch someone has encountered or heard of? All I get through some google searches are individual apps disappearing, but nothing comes up related to what we're dealing with.

Is this definitely a Apple tech support/genius bar situation? Thanks.

Sounds like the Springboard crashed. This used to happen all the time when you installed a jailbroken app with bad code. Any possibility that it’s jailbroken?

Chances are this is probably not much of an issue about 3.5 years later.
