I'm on iOS 8.4.1 and battery seems to be my only reason to upgrade to iOS 9.2, so I wanted to know if the battery is better or not cuz battery on 8.4.1 is awful and pretty bad...

First 2-3 days typical result in poorer battery life as your phone settles in after the update. I have been on 9.2 since B3 and B4(Final) has the best battery life I have experienced on my 6s of any iOS 9 update. I easily get 10 hours on my 6s, with everything turned on that you turned off. This is my 6s on 9.2 a full discharge since updating yesterday and charged to 100% overnight
This doesn't look promising, hopefully this answers your question
Location services off, Apple Music off, spotlight off, siri disabled, 3D Touch off...
I normally gauge every update by 10% of battery per hour, so far most updates have been almost on par with that besides this one.First 2-3 days typical result in poorer battery life as your phone settles in after the update. OP: The reason why your battery is probably poor on 8.4.1 is the health of your battery. Check your charge cycle count and your remaining health. It could just be a dying battery.
Thats typically what I do too. 10% = 1 hours. 9.1 was awful for me, 9.2 is better than 9.0.2 for me and 9.0.2 was about the 10% = 1 hour. Now for me its more like 10% = 1.25 hours.I normally gauge every update by 10% of battery per hour, so far most updates have been almost on par with that besides this one.
Honestly, don't update.
My iPhone 5s had a better battery than with iOS 9. Moreover, I need battery saver on if I want it to last 5-6 hours (What iOS 8 lasted on my iPhone without battery saver // I have everything on )
ive got 5s too. and im still on 8.4.1. for me the baterry life is decent. i wont upgrade because i care more about the perfomance than features. And i doubt that ios 9 has betters perfomance than ios 8.4.1Which was the last iOS 8 version you were on ? iOS 8.4.1 was reported that it had severe battery drain issues on apple's forums
its decent. just turn off the things you dont really needThis is my battery life on iOS 8.4.1
Check your battery health as I mentioned above. You can use Coconut Battery on a Mac for free. Otherwise the only other way is some paid apps in the app store. This is my battery life on iOS 8.4.1
mine is 1 year and half, but i didnt use it while it was chargingCheck your battery health as I mentioned above. You can use Coconut Battery on a Mac for free. Otherwise the only other way is some paid apps in the app store.
How old is your 5s?
Using while charging does nothing. Over a long time, using while charging can cause excessive heat (depending on what you are doing) which could hurt battery health. But normal use while charging doesn't mean anything.mine is 1 year and half, but i didnt use it while it was charging

Well - First off what phone are you using and what OS are you on.Hi,
Just for my curiosity how do you use the phone, mainly, to achieve 10% per hour? I am able to achieve 6h per charge but with a totAl stby time of almost 3 days. No switch-off overnight.
Thanks
I have 6s with 9.2b4 too but i was less convinced than you about the health of my battery. When i leave it on overnight it is in aircraft mode though and it loses 2% per night. WhAt do you think?Well - First off what phone are you using and what OS are you on.
Hardware + Software combination is very important. Additionally, I charge my phone every day. If you are getting 6 hours of usage and 3 days of standby, your battery sounds pretty strong.
I usually plug my phone in at night with 7-9 hours of usage, 14-16 hours of standby and between 25-40% battery remaining. (iPhone 6s, running 9.2B4)

Sounds like you have stuff running in the background that is eating power. When I leave mine unplugged overnight, not in airplane mode, I lose at most 1%. Most of the time I lose nothing.

That looks amazing. What are you talking about? That's about 8 hours of usage. I'd have a party if I ever got that.
i just updated my iphone 5s from 8.4.1 to 9.2, the biggest mistake of my life
Im using it for about an hour or more, and i already noticed 638382 bugs
I feel your pain. Had to replace my iPad mini 2 through Apple and the new one came with iOS 9... lag city!
