Hi guys
So I purchased an iPhone 5s
It's an AT&T phone
I checked the imei on the back and it came up as. Clean AND ready to Activate
I put a SIM card in and all was running smoothly until the screen said reported lost and erased asking for Apple id /password
Some one told me to connect to iTunes and put. It on recovery mode and I'll be able to use the phone..

So when you purchased the iPhone it was already set up with someone's information/account, it wasn't completely reset and required you to set it up from the beginning with your information?

I went through the setup where it asked what. country languages and use mobile connection then led me to the Apple I'd password screen

So you've set up your own Apple ID and iCloud account on the phone originally? And had Find My iPhone enabled and attached to your Apple ID?

And now it has been erased and asking for a different Apple ID (that isn't your own and the one you used to set it all up)?

sounds icloud locked, I think the only way is by getting the users apple id and password otherwise its a brick.

ive read online that people can get icloud locks off but its pretty hard/expensive

I would contact whoever you purchased the phone from and ask them to remove their iCloud account. You wouldn't be able to restore the phone if somebody has their iCloud account added unless you knew the username and password to remove it.
