How will be the system performance in iPhone 5s?? I am stuck with my 5s and I am afraid to upgrade it to iOS 11 after release.

If anyone tried iOS 11 on 5s just tell me because it is high-risk

theres zero risk. you can go back to ios 10.3.3 any time while 11 is still in beta. or are you still on IOS9?

It's the oldest device supported. The iPhone 4s on iOS 9 was terrible also. If you want a slower phone feel free to update. But back up your stuff before you do update so you can downgrade to iOS 10 if it's too slow.

i don't think its as bad as the 4s was on iOS 9 or even iOS 8

The latest Beta for iOS 11 on the 5s seems to be pretty good. Its a lot smoother than the 4s was on iOS 9 or the 4 was on iOS 7, and the stock apps launch well. I'm quite impressed.

I think its pretty good...the initial betas were especially awful on the 5s (and 6) but they were laggy and buggy on the iPhone 7 as well.

I would ask you to sell off your 5S and pick up a good “used” iPhone SE. With 2GB RAM and A9 SOC, it will run smooth at it’s given screen resolution for years to come. Plus you will get VoLTE support.

Well, i use my iPhone 5S as an iPod Touch. You can Update your iPhone 5S in iOS 11 if you want to EXPERIENCE how it's like running iOS 9 in iPhone 4S or iOS 10 in iPhone 5.

I have two 5s running iOS 11 db10. Imo, these devices run better than the original iOS 7. I'm happy with the performance on 4 year old devices. The iphone 5 may be a different animal.

That's a bit of an exaggeration, Its not that bad on iOS 11. The 4S was slow on iOS 9, a frustrating experience for some but useable in its own right.

The 5/5c on iOS 10 also slowed down vs iOS 9, but the devices run iOS 10 surprisingly well. I would say a fair bit better than the 4S ran iOS 9.

The 5s on the first iOS 11 beta was a lag fest and slow, but everything ran poor on the first beta. Even the iPhone 7 ran poorly and lagged. The 5s on the latest beta is pretty solid and I'm sure Apple will further optimise, let's wait for the GM to see it's initial performance.

Point is if 4S on iOS 9 is the measuring stick, the 5s on latest beta already runs better than that. The 5 on iOS 10 did too so not sure if the proclamation of a similar experience in that context is accurate

I’m a little confused about some ppl said that in latest supported os will be laggy and take example of iphone 4 or 4s, to be honest i’ve iphone 5 and ios 10.3.3(last os for iphone 5), it work amazingly normal. It’s smooth with no stuttering even just with 16gb memory, and i hope ios 11 for iphone 5s will be better like ios 10 for iphone 5. There is much things to be improved for this device and ipad mini 2.

TrueLaLush Sister, So TRUE and agree with you. The iPhone 5S on iOS 11 is just as bad on the 4S on iOS 9, like each apps take 10-20 seconds to load, if you compared iPhone 5 on iOS 10 vs 5S on iOS 11. Due to 1.3Ghz processor the 5 on iOS 10 is much faster to load apps than the Slow like a turtle on 5S on iOS 11 right?? the 5 only taks 0.4 seconds to load camera while 4S/5S takes about 2 seconds on its highest supported OS.

For me 11.2 on my old 5s is not horrible. I use it as an iPod Touch and it is slower than when it was on iOS 8 or 9 but not so bad that I would not upgrade.

iOS 10 was the last OS on 5s that still run smoothly.. 5 on iOS 7-10 was about the same, but on 5s its just terrible. For example even you bought a new battery the hardware itself like M7 motion compressor cannot cope up with iOS 11 requirements. It will still drain like you can only use your 5s for 2-3 hours straight From 100- 0%.

11.2 runs very well in my two 4 year old 5s. One has battery drain one doesn’t. Identically configured. One has a almost dead battery imo. But the 5s runs well.

it runs surprisingly well here, no issues with performance/excessive battery drain.

Note: I am using 'reduce motion', not with the goal to counteract any performance issues there might be (actually I have no idea if there are any when not using 'reduce motion'), but just because I don't like the animations...
