After adding two videos to VLC and one to the stock Videos app, my phone lost the Fingerprint ID, then began to lag on the Lock Screen. After hitting the Home Button, it has taken up to 30 seconds for anything to appear on the screen. At that point, I can only slide to unlock but have to wait another 20 seconds after inputting my Passcode to get into the phone. After that, everything functions as before.

I deleted the videos in question, deleted a bunch more, cleared everything out of Safari, closed all apps, and reset the phone (Home+Lock Buttons).

Temporarily, the lag time issues go away now until about three apps are simultaneously running -- at which time I have to repeat the above steps. However, no matter what, I have not regained the Fingerprint ID and cannot add a single fingerprint.

In Apple's forums, there has been talk of software corruption happening when Fingerprint ID is lost.

Note: only jailbroken apps installed are: BigBoss Icon Set, Cydia Installer, Cydia Substrate, Cydia Translations, evasi0n 7.x Untether, f.lux, ProTube, RushPlayer+, Substrate Safe Mode, 3G Unrestrictor 5

Any ideas on a fix? Is there a jailbroken diagnostic app to use to fix the bug?

I'm now getting the Apple Logo startup loop when I'm charging up the phone when it dies.

Am I just hosed and need to update the phone to 7.1.2?

What is so bad about updating to 7.1.2 , i took it as a fresh start.
My apps now crash a lot less

Why not do a complete restore to 7.1.2 and jailbreak. Touch ID is faster, more accurate, and I rarely experience lag/crashes.

The lag issue may have been helped along by StatusModifier 3.2.2.

As for the fingerprint scanner, the hardware actually completely failed causing the software to not show the option as it couldn't find working hardware. Apple ended up swapping it out for me.

What a complete PITA this one was…but it's the first time an iPhone has ever crapped out on me. :apple:
