IPhone 5s problems

My girlfriend has a 5s,spilt water on it and it quit working, it would get to the boot up screen and then continue to cycle through a blank screen and the white boot up screen, it would turn on fully and function fully for a few minutes and then crash, so we then took it to an iPhone repair place in Ames and they swapped out the battery and cleaned it and it charged, booted up and work as should for two days and then this morning she went to turn it on and absolutely nothing, the laptop doesn't recognize it and it is back to doing the same thing it was. Any idea as to what it could be? I'm electronically inclined and I'm lead to believe that the battery was not bad because it got wet but rather because something else got wet and then damaged the battery and did the same thing? I'm no phone expert though, so any help is appreciated

Water has a bad habit of short circuit electric equipment. There is obviously something more than the battery that's infected in this case. If it's a short circuit on the mother board,the phone is probably beyond repair,as it would cost a lot more than the phone is worth.

Hmmmmm I'm pretty handy with soldering and fragile electronics I rebuild amplifiers and work on all sorts of small delicate circuit boards any possibility or where to look for signs of trouble? I really wish the guy would have tested the rest of the phone before concluding it was simply a bad battery

No use if you don't have a direct link to apples component suppliers in china. It's not just to solder new components like in analog amplifiers,if processor or RAM is affected,which it looks like from your description,it's not just to order a new one from a hobby store,you need components with the right firmware,and I doubt Apple or Foxconn would sell you those.

Yeah,and as the phone probably has to be scrapped anyway,you could always open it and take a good look at it,just to see if there is any parts you could use for something else.
