Iphone 5s probs please help

Have just bought a reconditioned iphone 5s, have recieved in mint condition. But have one problem the phone only charges on one side of the lightning cable, is this normal? I dont think it is as have sent one back with a baseband fault and used my aftermarket cables fine on that, its still under waranty thru ebay should i send it back or should i buy a legit charger?? Or is it a charger port failure all works on good side, files transfered music and charges ???Any help would b appreciated as this would b the third one sent back with various different faults..

Have you tried an alternative charging cable ?

It should charge either way you insert the cable.

Also check for dust / lint in the charging port of the iPhone and also check the Lightning jack on the cable for debris. Something like a toothpick but be careful.

I personally wouldn't keep the phone as this maybe the start of issues with it.

I have tried three after market charging cables all work on one side, it has no lint what so ever phone is mint condition.. Im confused do i have to buy a legit cable or is phone knackered, so much money on return postage, £24 to date.. my daughters 5s wirks fine in all cables

In my own experience I've had a mixed bag of results with using non authentic charging cables and plugs. Sometimes they'd work and then not.

Do you have a friend , family member or work colleague with an Apple original charging cable and plug just as a process of elimination ?
