I just made the switch from the 5S to the 7 Plus. I noticed right away the volume was extremely quiet and somewhat muffled. Ive heard a rave about the good sound quality and im not sure if I should be disappointed. The 5S doing a comparison is louder and sounds better at max sound than the 7 plus. Do you think there is an issue with the phone, or did apple go backwards in quality?

PS: I have went through all the settings to make it the loudest possible on the 7 plus.

I can't speak for your iPhone 5s, but that's completely bogus that Apple has gone backwards in quality. The stereo speakers by comparison are incredibly loud, crisp and clear. Even the iPhone 8 has had a 25% increase with the stereo speakers over the iPhone 7 when From when it was first introduced.
