Hello there,

I have some questions about the iPhone 5s 16gb Space gray Verizon. :)

1- Is it normal for the iPhone 5s to use less data? I watch videos, use safari, use App Store/iTunes that generally use TONS of data like on my iPhone 5 16GB (that used 2.5GB in ONE DAY from 3 short videos and a few safari searches and texts) but it hasn't been on my new iPhone 5s, is this normal?

2- How long do you think until there will be water proof cases for the iPhone 5s/c's body?

3- on my new iPhone, I tried to open a couple apps at first and they kept quitting (between every other app that DID work) and when I opened the Weather, the app crashed, my phone restarted and I ended up with 10% more battery... I don't know what to say to that but... Is hat normal as well? haha.

4- Verizon's policy is that if I want to get a new phone , I have to wait exactly 2 years since I got (this) my last/current phone. What if my phone breaks, I am not allowed to get a new phone for two years or I have to pay FULL retail price for a new iPhone? Is it me that is wrong, or is this correct and a stupid policy?

Thank you( and/or others) for resolving my questions. I hope it brings a positive outcome to your life. :)

1) It will use the same amount of data. Either you weren't monitoring your data usage correctly, or those three short videos were quite long, you searched thousands of web pages, and sent a few millions texts ;)

2) Otterbox just released one: http://www.otterbox.com/Preserver-Series-for-iPhone-5S/apl20-iphone-5s,default,pd.html

3) Try a hard reset, hold the home and power button down until the phone restarts. If that doesn't smooth things out, try a full restore of your device by connecting to your computer and restoring it through iTunes.

4) If your phone breaks (something happens to it not related to damage) it can be serviced or replaced if necessary within your one year warranty period. If you are responsible for the damage from dropping it or getting it wet (both will be very obvious, you can't say the phone dented itself ), you will be responsible for the out of warranty replacement cost of $269.

Hello, thank you so much for replying (thought no one would). What do you think the problem would be with my data? I really only searched (on safari) about 6 times and watched 2 6 min videos... You're saying I had to have watched ALOT more, texted millions and searched thousands, not sure how that is so. Maybe Verizon is having the problem? Haha. Please respond ASAP :)

Why do you think you used 2.5GB in one day? If you're looking in the Cellular section in Settings, that number shows what you've used since the last time you reset the data. You have to manually reset it each month to see what you're using during your billing cycle.

If you did manually reset the cellular statistics that day, and at the end of the day saw 2.5GB, then there was some data leak problem.

Also, it helps to quote the person to whom you are responding. I just so happened to check back into this thread. I would have had no idea that you responded to me otherwise. Quoting me gives the person a notification that you responded - this helps them get back to you sooner.

It is evident you should have started the 5s as a new iPhone on 7.0.2. All of your issues except the case and contract are from bad bits.

Hello there,

I did check my data status throughout each day (and still do) I went to 200mb the first day, the second day of doing a lot less ( I was in school), it had went up 1.410GB/4GBfor no reason. It was steady until 2 days after, then it jumped to 2.300GB/4GB for logging into my iCloud account, taking 3 pictures and restarting phone for a random crash. So far, it's been going (apparently) normal (several safari searches, many calls/texts, 2 FaceTime, and 3G network for 6 hours) and only used .300GB, so, hopefully it is becoming more "normal" or at least a little. :)
