Hi all,

First post ever here, for a question I haven't found any plausible speculations or dead right answers online. So here it is:
Will the iPhone 5SE be discontinued when the next iPhone 7 / 6SE is launched in September?

I'm really happy with the iPhone 5S 64 I have now. I would preferably buy a 5SE over a iPhone 6 / 6S, as I found the two way too expensive for my use, bulkier and IMHO don't like the power button position.

So I'm just balancing my options:
1. Wait until release and hope the 64 Gig version of the iPhone 5SE is still available and CHEAPER?
2. Buy now before the 64Gig version disappear
3. Wait with the hope an even buffier version of the iPhone 5 / or a new 4" iPhone will be introduced (very unlikely)

So what do you think?

PS: I might have missed similar post so redirection will be appreciated.

No, the SE will not be discontinued when the new phone launches in September. It was just released a few months ago and will stay to satisfy the smaller phone users. It'll probably be discontinued, or "upgraded" in late 2018 or early 2019.

Absolutely not. The SE is here to stay for quite sometime. It's only been on the market for six months and you have to remember why Apple brought this Phone back. The consumer wanted a smaller form factor with most of the 6s features. I doubt the SE will be upgraded anytime soon though.

If Apple ditches the headphone jack, I'm expecting to hold on to my SE for as long as I possibly can before getting a new phone.

The iPhone 5c was around for about 2.5 years, I'm thinking the SE will be around about the same 2-3 years. Then we may get another 4" replacement if it still seems to prove popular enough.

At the same time there's quite a bit of a difference as to what 5c was compared to what SE is.

Thanks for your replies people. Yup I do think also the iPhone 5SE will still be in Apple's catalog but as often I fear the higher end model will be discarded to push us to buy the 6/6S.
So will the 64 5SE model still be on the shelves after september?

Yeah for sure they will not discontinue 64 gb model this September, even if they want to discontinue the 64 gb model they will discontinue it after they release the another 4inch iPhone,as always they have done with other models,so 64gb iPhone SE is not going anywhere sooon

Right, looks like I have my answers, so wait and see and hopefully prices will drop a little.
Again thank you All and looking forward to seeing cool surprises during the September event.

I don't believe the price of the iPhone SE will drop in September. The 64gb iPhone SE is allready discounted at $499 compared to the 6s 64gb price of $749 (US prices). You may be able to find more iPhone SEs discounted on the used market as people switch to the next generation.
