There have been many posts about Safari freezing or Safari crashing on 9.3, but I haven't been able to find other threads where peoples' entire phone is crashing and restarting like this. Any thoughts?

Specifically, while in a web view (whether in Safari itself, or inside of another app), the phone suddenly crashes, displays the Apple logo, and restarts. It has even happened while in iCloud Shared Photos.

It appears to be generating panic-[date].ips and/or ResetCounter-[date].ips logs.
Are you using a Pac file in your Wi-Fi settings to block ads? I was getting kernel panic crashes from 9.3 and it turned out to be because of that.

Oh wow, yes, I am. Were you able to modify the PAC for a fix, or had to disable it completely? It would be nice to identify what exactly in the PAC is causing the crashes.

I just disabled it so I'm not exactly sure what's causing it, nice to have content blockers to block ads but of course that only works in safari. The one I was using is called "1337 ADBL0cK3R of DOOM" which gets posted on here a lot.
Edit: here's the link to it http://shion.ca/ios/adblockpub.js

Yeah, I'm using a customized version of a different pac file, as described here. I think it must be a Safari bug that'll hopefully be fixed along with the other JS issues. I turned on sending of diagnostic data so they'll maybe take note of the kernel panics.

Seems potentially somewhat different given that the whole phone crashes as the OP mentioned.
You might be right. But I had tweetbot webview crash my device as well so I thought all was related :)

Only happened once though so maybe random coincidence...

The panic logs at least mine list "ftp-proxy" as the panicked thread so I'd say the use of PAC files is absolutely the cause for these specific crashes. Either it's a glitch in 9.3 or possibly some new security measure if the PAC happens to redirect one of Apple's services despite it being to a dummy address like localhost.

I was using PAC on my iPad 2 and since updating to 9.3 I started experiencing daily crashes / reboots. Disabled it, everything was fine.

However, after a few days I realized I'd rather take a couple of crashes every day than the barrage of mindless ads on most websites. So I re-enabled PAC.
