Hello everyone,

I have my iPhone 6 for more than an year and everything was just fine but last week something happened and my battery drains a lot faster now. Previously, I charged my phone during the night and then the battery survived the whole day with a moderate usage. Now, I need to charge it every 3-4 hours. Yesterday I went to bed with 100% battery and after 8-9 hours without any usage the battery was on 32%...

I've tried a couple of things but nothing is working so far - restarting, turning off and back on again, signing out from my icloud and itunes account, and finally today I restored it 'as a new' but again without any success. I've also used xCode to monitor the processes of the phone because sometimes it is running hot even though I don't use it but I couldn't find any process that is using a lot of CPU or something.

I don't have any more ideas what to do, I've read a lot of battery related topics and I am sure there is an answer to my question but I couldn't find it. I believe the problem isn't in the hardware (the battery itself) because everything happened within a day. What I mean is that on the one day everything was OK and on the other day the battery was a crap. One thing that I want to mention, but I am not sure if this even could cause a problem, is that one or two days before the problem appeared I used a toothpick to clean the charging port because it was really dirty and I wasn't even able to put the charging cable properly (it wouldn't start charging).

Unfortunately, there is no Apple Store in my city or somewhere nearby, so it would be really hard for me to repair it in an authorized store. Any ideas what could have possibly gone wrong so I can try to fix it?

How can I be sure that the problem is in the battery itself? I think this is some kind of a software issue as I am not sure whether the capacity of a battery can decrease so rapidly in just a single day. Yeah, it decreases gradually over time but not that fast... Moreover, I think the phone is running really hot sometimes with only moderate or even no usage. Today, I browsed in Safari for 10 minutes and afterwards the phone was as hot as if I had played some demanding game for an hour. Is there anything else I can try before changing the battery?
