Hi there,
So, I'm running the El Capitan Beta and iTunes 12.2.0 and an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.4. For the first time today, I attempted to sync up my phone to add a couple albums--only to find that everything on my phone is now "OTHER" (110 gigs of other, cool.) and I cannot add anything to my phone.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas for a workaround?
Thanks!

110GB "others", really cool. I am impressed. :D

I assume you have tried restarting your device and reconnecting your device to your Mac multiple times.

Can you find a machine with Yosemite and iTunes 12.2.0 installed? I think this might help, to see if there is possible compatibility issue with drivers, or system.

Since mine runs iOS 9 beta 3, I am sorry my experience could not help you a bit.

I haven't tried restarting my Mac, and I suppose I should. I have restarted my phone to no avail. I don't have access to another Mac really at all, unless I take it to an Apple Store. I'm hoping it's a bug that gets squashed in the next build because being able to load new music onto my device is actually sort of important for my job

Update: I did restart my mac, still the same problem.
You can try doing a backup of your device using iTunes or, maybe, other third party apps. If you can, then you could try to restore your device and erase anything on it to see if anything works fine.

Or, you can just reset settings on your device and retry connecting. So you at least don't need to nuke everything you have on device.

I'll likely try the latter, because right now I can't even sync my phone to iTunes at all. It just doesn't DO anything if that makes sense. Like it pops up but when I try to back the phone up or sync it, nothing happens. So I'm concerned that should I restore it, I won't be able to add anything to it at all. At least right now all the music is still on my phone (even if my computer claims otherwise)

Have you been using Apple music a lot? Because a lot of users are having the problem of AM totally eating up all their free storage space.

Nope, I actually haven't used Apple music at all. Like I had about 100 gigs of music on my phone. Plus photos and stuff comes out to around 110, so the "other" is just all the REAL data on my device.

If all your real data is music, photo, video, and those files are stored on your iTunes, you can safely wipe when out and sync them back. But I believe you don't want to do it.

You can try resetting all settings on your device and try connecting to iTunes. Some issues could be solved using this way.
