I have the entire Apple ecosystem... I like the hardware and the software is a'ight.. I am considering leaving Apple as my current platforms age out. I also have Lenovo notebooks and a Microsoft Surface Pro from work. With Windows 10 I am tempted to purchase the new Surface phone when it comes out.

Have any of you considered making the switch?

I think the hardest thing to walk away from is my well organized Apple itunes music library

Why should I stay? What does Apple promise in the future that should keep me with them and pay the premium for their platforms?

Why not have a mix and match? Open your vistas and keep what works for you.

When I deal with people with all Apple Eco set ups, the first thing that goes is the Airport Extreme in favour of a superior router. Next, gamers leave Apple computers for PCs. Art folks take their choice of PC or Mac depending on how deep they are into doing art/graphics/photog or simply get a superior monitor that is designed for graphics in mind.

In my case, I do have iPhone and rMBP 15" as a main stay. I also have a couple of quad Minis that are for both entertainment purpose and testing (neither has OSX on them at this time). If I am not looking at my rMBP screen I am looking at a 24" NEC Spectraview monitor.
