Hi guys,

I'm new here..

I have a problem with my iphone 6 with ios 9.3.2
Didn't notice any problem since updating to ios 9.3.2 until I noticed the battery drains much quicker than previous version of ios installed on my phone.

So, I thought I'd do a backup and then factory reset the phone.
But when I plugged in to my computer, Windows 7 PC, it was no where to be found. (my Itunes is latest version by the way, 12.4.1).

I thought it was driver issue, so I tried to look it up in device manager, but I couldn't locate any unknown device there. But the phone was charging.

So far, I have tried restarting apple mobile device service, connect to windows 8 pc, mac (snow leopard), hard reset, factory reset..nothing works.

Now, I'm stuck..I had to do my backup to icloud via wifi. Recovery mode cannot be done because it needed itunes connection.

Any suggestion, guys?
Is it possible to downgrade or reinstall ios without computer connection?

Another weird issue is, it won't charge with most cables I have, even though they are genuine iphone cable!

Do your computers "see" the phone? Or is it just iTunes that can't detect it? I had a Windows computer with iTunes and iTunes was unable to detect my iphone 6, although Windows did see it and I would have been able to transfer pictures and videos. This happened after I upgraded a Windows 8 computer to Windows 10. This link helped me:

Later, this same computer had an issue with iTunes being unable to see an iPhone 5. Windows Companion app kept coming up instead and trying to sync my computer to my phone (silly!). The info in that link didn't work in this case. I ended up going to Control Panel-Hardware and Devices, and deleting the iPhone 5 there, disconnecting it from the computer, then plugging it back in and having Windows reinstall it. That worked. I think Windows and Apple don't always play nicely.

When you mention the charging cable not working, though, it makes me wonder about the port on your phone. Is there debris in there or something? It sounds like things may not be connecting properly.

Hi MiniGeek,

Thanks for your reply.

No. The computer does not see the phone.
There is no unknown device in device manager.
I have tried connecting it to all computers at home, but nope, none of them can detect the iphone as a hardware.

All other iphones at home are connecting fine though..only this iphone 6.

Damn it.
I think I got a dud iPhone..First the camera alignment dislocate..twice!
and now this..

Anyway, Thanks again MiniGeek. Much appreciated!
