iPhone 6 not syncing with iTunes

I'm struggling with iTunes right now -- trying to get my music onto my iPhone 6.

When I go into iTunes and look at music on my device, all the music I've tried to add is just grey. Nothing is showing up on my iPhone. Not sure what's going on here. Any help?

Do you have music selected for sync? Make sure you check the box and select what you want on the phone on the music tab of iTunes.

I'm having exactly the same problem with 80% greyed out songs on my iphone 6. All my music is checked for syncing in iTunes. My library is from CDs and iTunes purchases. I'm not using Apple Music or Music Match, or any subscription service. Did you find a fix?
