I received my new Verizon 6+ 128 yesterday in the mail. Activated the phone as a new phone, downloaded contacts from the cloud then downloaded all my old apps while on wifi. During this time the phone used 1.2gb of data all within 3 hours and being on wifi. I researched online and did a complete reset of the phone today, its been an hour since the reinstall and the phone has used almost 20mb of data without me using ANY data services. Also some numbers are not showing as contacts and only as the phone number in messages. Has anyone had any of these issues or am I the only one? Very frustrating to say the least, spent 2 years on a 4s with zero issues. Any help would be appreciated!

Settings/cellular/use cellular data for.
Over there it will list what app used how much data.
You can also disable cellular data for certain apps.
My guess its icloud probably. Scroll down to system services and see the amount used for certain services also.
Its all listed there, data doesn't just magically use up itself.
Its an app or process that's running and either downloading/uploading something.

Verizon came to the conclusion that the wifi card is not working properly and replaced the phone. I shut cell data off and was on wifi when the phone still used cell data.

I have an iPhone 6 and mine magically uses data in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping and connected to wifi. I see 150mb in one shot anywhere between 12am and 6am while Im at home sleeping. Verizon says there is nothing wrong and I need to turn off "cellular data" when I get home to correct the issue. Thats BS in my book. Never had this issue before with any iPhones. Not sure what to do now.

This is well known for years now with every carrier.
Its not that verizon says you used it then. Its when all the data from various towers and usage throughout the day is reported to their billing system. Just because it posts late at night in the system it doesn't mean you used it at exactly then.
All you people have to do is go to Settings/cellular/use cellular data and see what apps use what amount of carrier data.
The phone doesn't magically use data on its on. You do or the apps you're using or the icloud and other features you have enabled to background and refresh using data.
Shouldnt be that hard to figure it out especially now that everything is displayed there for you in settings.

This "magic" just started about 4 weeks ago. Never had an issue with it before with this phone or any other iPhone. When I go back and check my data usage during the night several months back there is nothing being used between those times. Ive been on wifi for the past four days and its still adding up on the cellular usage as I type. I have reset it to watch it and it does happen at night while being on wifi. Verizon says its a known issue and they have been working with Verizon to resolve the issue. Thanks for your input but it's a problem and it's not mine to fix.

Its not during the night. I already explained that to you above.
Don't check your data using your carriers program. Those are being reported late and collected all at once and displayed then. Look in your settings. Every single KB used is there displayed simplified for you.
The carrier support rep will tell you whatever to get you off the phone but believe what you want.
All you need to do is go to Settings/cellular/use cellular data and see what program or programs are using the most amount of carrier data and disable carrier data for those or at least figure out what is using it up.
Its not magic, its something you changed or installed in the passed 4 weeks.
What does that screen tell you on data usage?
