the screen on my iPhone6 Plus at max brightness is not bright enough when its sunny - actually its almost impossible to read anything on it under direct sunlight - Anyone elsehas the same issue? An old iPhone5 I still use is fine.

Thanks

I havn't had an iphone yet that was good under direct sunlight, most phones are not except for ones with an lcd screen. That includes the 5 and 6s plus I have owned (still own the 6s plus) and they are about the same. Unreadable under direct sunlight. Really the only one I have owned that is excellent under direct sunlight is the moto x style with an lcd screen/

I'm coming from a 5s to the 6s+, and I also noticed that the 6s+ is more washed out in direct sun. The tech specs for both phones say 500cdm brightness, so perhaps the larger screen is dispersing more sunlight or something?

But I've never used an LCD phone that I would call great in sunlight.

We just took the three phones out together. The wife still has a 5s, my 6s plus and the moto x style. There may be a slight difference in the 5s and 6s plus but not enough to matter. Both are really bad in Direct Sunlight. The moto x style is excellent, I can use it in DS as easy as I can in the shade. I prefer the screen and shape of the moto but ios meshes better with my mac and ipad so it's going to one of the (grown) kids.

We live at 9000 feet so the sun is particularly harsh and sunburn comes quick if that makes a diffence.

Late reply, but, just to say that I disabled auto-brightness and that improved things a lot. It also means I keep adjusting the brightness manually throughout the day :/

Thanks everyone for replying.
