Okay, so,I recently got my screen replaced because it went completely blank on me, and the person that replaced the screen informed my husband and I that we'd have to get a new ribbon for the camera and earpiece which we got from Amazon (picture for reference) and got it installed but the camera still showed a black screen. I was told it was a hardware issue, I have tried restoring and updating the phone. Anything else I can do instead of having to pay an arm and a leg that we don't have? (My husband knows how to work with iPhones and has a kit).

thank you

Any input is appreciated!

If the camera worked before the screen replacement I’d say the camera was damaged during the repair. That cable normally shouldn’t need to be replaced..

That depends if the replacement screen came with the Camera flex pre-installed. Personally, I prefer screens that DON'T have this pre-installed because it is usually a lower quality aftermarket flex. It is preferable to transfer over the Apple original flex to the replacement screen.

For the OP:
I agree however that if your camera worked before the repair, it should work after the repair. Normally a reputable shop would test all functionality before and after a repair. It's an easy flex to damage during a repair.

In this case, it sounds like either you received a bad quality replacement part (hence my comment above preferring the original flex) or the connector got damaged on the logic board. Either way, you should discuss this with the shop as it sounds like they may have damaged something and they should stand behind their work.
