iPhone 6 Plus no service

i recently bought a used iPhone 6 Plus to replace my iPhone 6.

When I went to put my SIM card in, however, it said "searching..." And it wouldn't go last that point.

I tried the sim in numerous phones, and it worked fine. I also reset the 6 plus, reset the network settings, and tried different SIM cards.

For some reason, it wouldn't work. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how should I fix it?

More info is needed. What carrier was the phone being used on and do you know if it was unlocked or is it still locked to that carrier?

Put the sim back in your 6. Turn both phones off, switch the sim and turn on the new phone. That's what works for me.

I actually knew the original owner for quite some time prior to buying the phone, and it was, in fact, locked to at&t.

I use at&t, and when i put my sim card in, it didn't work. He put his in minutes later, and it worked just fine.

Put the sim back in your 6. Turn both phones off, switch the sim and turn on the new phone. That's what works for me.

Your sim card is for another phone not that one. You're going to need to make the switch with AT&T and obtain a new sim card from them. As long as arrangements are made to continue paying for the phone or contract with AT&T, you should have no problem. If the phone is already paid for or the contract fulfilled, you can ask AT&T to unlock it. But either way, you're going to need a new sim from them.

Looks like your 6 plus is related to the the original owner's sim card.
You should ask AT&T to unlock it.
