Hi all.

We have an iPhone 6 in the family that seems to be having screen issues. At times you can use it completely normally, but suddenly the screen will stop registering any touches. This can be just for a few seconds or sometimes for even a whole minute. We believed this may have been due to a faulty screen, but we had it replaced and the unresponsiveness still continues.

Has anybody here had an issue like this or got any recommendations what else to try with it?

Thanks.

Your phone may be suffering from Touch Disease. This condition mainly affects the iPhone 6 Plus but it does also happen on the iPhone 6. If good quality replacement screens suffer from the same issue, then it is likely a logic board issue. To be certain, I would backup your phone and do a full restore on it to start clean. If the same issue crops up again, then it will require a micro-soldering repair.

Greatly appreciate the info!

I did try to restore it multiple times and the problem still persists. Looks like I will have to research some micro-soldering repair place over here, but I’m not overly optimistic about finding one.

Quick follow up, is there any diagnostics tool that would confirm it is in fact a logic board issue?

Not really. If known-good replacement screens don't solve the problem, then the issue is usually on the logic board. As for the repair, most micro-solderers offer some form of mail-in repair. You can check out my profile and/or search Google "micro-soldering iphone YOUR TOWN".
