I do a lot of power walking with my wife and I carry my iP 6+ in my front pocket. My habit is to have the glass facing my body. I use Touch ID or a passcode to access the phone and Touch ID is generally very reliable.
For the past few weeks my phone has been activating itself while inside my pocket during walks. I notice it because it will access the Shazam app, Safari, or the flashlight app and I either hear something or notice the light. The phone also gets noticeably hot.
The phone is otherwise working fine. When the phone is not in my pocket it takes the usual progression of steps to access it (home button press, then passcode or Touch ID fingerprint, then pressing the app icon).
The only thing that is a common factor is that this seems to happen only after I've started to perspire and there's tiny bit of moisture that gets to the phone through my pocket liner. Turning the phone around so the glass faces away from my body seems to cure the problem.
All in all this is a minor nuisance and the fix for me is simple (turn the phone around). However, it really makes me wonder how the phone is being activated in spite of the security systems.
